Cases across four police stations

According to police, the trio was involved in cases booked under sections 318(4) and 316(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These include Crime No. 253/2025 at Nallakunta police station, 231/2025 at Goshamahal, 201/2025 at Hussainialam, and 165/2025 at Charminar.

Gold collected, sold to unknown persons

Police said Abbas Ali, who had expertise in making handmade ornaments, collected raw gold from jewellers promising to return finished ornaments. However, instead of delivering the jewellery, he diverted 614.840 grams of ornaments from Shree Tulja Bhavani Jewellers Pvt Ltd and 1,292.388 grams of bullion from Sri Durga Bhavani Bullions Pvt Ltd, besides gold from other jewellers.

The accused sold the diverted gold to unidentified buyers. Police said Abbas Ali used the money to pay his workers, invest in the stone business, and fund his lifestyle.

Arrest and recovery

Based on credible information, a team led by Additional Inspector A Ramulu raided the accused’s house in Chelapura. Police apprehended the three and seized gold ornaments, stones and cash worth about ₹90 lakh.

The case is being investigated under the supervision of DCP East Zone B Bala Swamy, IPS, and other senior officers.
