Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) has announced a revised fare chart for the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which includes a 10% discount applied to the new fare structure recommended by the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC). The revised fares, structured zone-wise based on travel distance, will come into effect from May 24, 2025, and will be applicable across all ticketing platforms including paper QR tokens, digital tickets, and smart cards.

According to the updated fare chart, passengers travelling up to 2 kilometers will be charged ₹11. The fare increases gradually with distance, reaching ₹69 for journeys exceeding 24 kilometers. Notably, the revised fares reflect a discount of 10% on the rates recommended by the FFC, and all amounts have been rounded to the nearest rupee for convenience. The fare for 2–4 kilometers is now ₹17, while trips spanning 4–6 km will cost ₹28.

Longer journeys, such as those between 6–9 km and 9–12 km, will cost ₹37 and ₹47 respectively. The fare for 12–15 km is set at ₹51, while distances of 15–18 km and 18–21 km will cost ₹56 and ₹61 respectively. For journeys between 21–24 km, the fare is ₹65, and those exceeding 24 km will pay ₹69.

L&TMRHL has encouraged passengers to opt for digital and smart card payments for a more efficient and seamless commuting experience. The company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable metro services to the city of Hyderabad. This fare revision comes as part of an ongoing initiative to ensure that metro rail operations remain sustainable while continuing to offer value to daily commuters.

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited is a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro and operates the metro system under a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model. The project is one of the largest public-private partnership (PPP) urban transit initiatives globally. The concession agreement was signed in September 2010, and financial closure was achieved in a record six months by March 2011.
