Hyderabad Metro faces disruption; Normal operations resumed

Hyderabad: Metro services in Hyderabad were disrupted this morning on January 29, 2025, due to a technical issue, causing delays and inconvenience for passengers. The blue line between Nagole and Raidurg was particularly affected, with trains stopping for up to 15 minutes at each station. Major stations, including Secunderabad, were also temporarily shut down.

According to the reports, the disruption began around 7 a.m. when a signaling problem occurred on the blue line between Ameerpet and Peddamma Thalli Temple. Services were halted for about an hour before being gradually restored. However, trains continued to run slowly, affecting commuters traveling on multiple routes, including Nagole-Secunderabad and Miyapur-Ameerpet.

L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail (@ltmhyd) took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the issue, saying, “Dear Passengers, earlier today, Hyderabad Metro Rail services encountered a temporary disruption caused by a signaling system technical glitch. We worked promptly to resolve the issue, and normal services have been restored. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused our passengers.”

Despite the resolution, passengers expressed frustration over the lack of communication during the delay. The slow services during peak hours impacted many commuters, especially office workers. One passenger, @EastHyderabad, criticized the delayed response, saying, “You are responding now after passengers were stranded for more than 2 hours. At least you could have responded earlier.”

Another commuter, @gindrareddy, added, “I boarded at 7:24 a.m. at Nagole, and the train didn’t move until 7:45 a.m. There was no announcement. If we had been informed, many could have sought other alternatives.”

This is not the first time Hyderabad Metro has faced technical disruptions. In November 2024, services were briefly halted due to a glitch that affected both the Nagole-Raidurg and LB Nagar-Miyapur routes.
