Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) is set to transform the city’s urban landscape with the launch of the Hyderabad Metro Art Fest 2025, in collaboration with IGA Galleria. The three-day event, scheduled for March 27-29, 2025, will take place at Premia Mall, Irrum Manzil, and aims to celebrate artistic excellence by bringing together ten renowned artists from across India to showcase their works.

The event will feature live painting sessions at IGA Galleria, offering visitors a chance to witness the creative process in real-time, making art more accessible and interactive. With entry free of charge, the fest is expected to attract art enthusiasts and the public alike, offering a unique opportunity to engage with art in a lively, urban setting. The event will be open daily for 3 days from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

NVS Reddy, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), expressed the significance of the fest, stating, “Hyderabad has a rich artistic heritage. The Hyderabad Metro Art Fest is an effort to integrate art into daily life and inspire commuters and visitors beyond conventional spaces.”

KVB Reddy, MD & CEO of L&TMRHL, explained about the event’s role in promoting creativity, saying, “Hyderabad Metro Rail is more than just a mode of transport, it symbolizes the city’s progress and innovation. Through initiatives like the Hyderabad Metro Art Fest, we aim to bring art beyond galleries and promote creativity in the urban landscape.”

The event will showcase the works of ten talented artists, including Sweta Chandra from Hyderabad, Manish Chavda from Ahmedabad, Ramu Das from Santiniketan, Basuki Dasgupta from Bengaluru, Monica Ghule from Badlapur, Dinkar Jadhav from Pune, Narsimlu Kandi from Hyderabad, Bandana Kumari from Bhopal, Vasanthula Ramakrishna from Hyderabad, and Bhaskara Rao Botcha from Hyderabad.

Their artwork will bring a diverse range of styles and perspectives, showing the rich cultural fabric of India. As part of its ongoing commitment to urban transformation, L&TMRHL continues to integrate art, culture, and public engagement into the city’s transit ecosystem. The Hyderabad Metro Art Fest is reflection of this vision, making the metro system not just a transit hub, but also a dynamic cultural space that fosters creativity.

IGA Galleria, a well-known art consulting firm, is curating the event, which will feature a variety of art forms, including paintings, sculptures, and pottery, from both established and emerging artists. The fest will take place at Premia Mall, a centrally located venue that is directly connected to the Irrum Manzil Metro Station. The mall’s vibrant atmosphere and high visibility provide an ideal setting for this cultural event, making art more engaging for a wider audience.

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited is a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro and was established to implement the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. The company signed the Concession Agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh on September 4, 2010, and completed the financial closure of the project on March 1, 2011, marking the largest fund tie-up in India for a non-power infrastructure Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project.
