35-year-old found dead in Hyderabad home; Pet dog's bite marks noted
Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man, Pavan Kumar, was found dead under unclear circumstances at his home in Madhura Nagar on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
According to police, Pavan had been unwell for a few days. He had been living with his childhood friend, B. Sandeep, for the past four years.
On Saturday evening, Sandeep and another friend, Uday, took Pavan to a hospital, where they collected a nebulizer and medication for his breathing issues. The three returned home around 9:00 p.m. Sandeep later told police that Pavan was visibly struggling to breathe.
The group reportedly stayed up until around 4:00 a.m. The next morning, at about 11:00 a.m., Sandeep knocked on Pavan’s bedroom door but received no response. After several more attempts, including another one around lunchtime, he called mutual friends Shravan, Uday, and Sai for help.
When the group forced the door open, they found Pavan lying unresponsive beside his bed. His three-month-old pet Husky ran out of the room as they entered. They also noticed injuries on his private parts, which caused initial concern.
Police suspect Pavan may have died of a heart attack. The police stated that the injuries could have been caused by the dog, which may have tried to wake its owner after being locked in the room for several hours.
A post-mortem is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Following a complaint from Sandeep, police registered a case. The investigation is ongoing.
