Residents express concern over growing garbage dumping along Izzath Nagar Road
Hyderabad: Residents and commuters in Izzath Nagar are expressing growing concern over the increasing amount of garbage dumped along the roadside, particularly along the route from Izzath Nagar to Yashoda Hospital. Many residents are questioning whether the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) sanitation workers are effectively picking up the trash, as littering and illegal dumping continue to be major issues in the area. Despite repeated complaints to GHMC, residents say no substantial action has been taken.
The issue was highlighted by Krishna Chaitanya (@Krishna_avs) on social media, where he called on the GHMC to address the situation. In a post, he said, “@CommissionrGHMC Please come & see how badly #Cleanliness is maintained in Izzath Nagar. One side of the road is fully filled with #Trash. Do #GHMC pickup vans operate here? Why is #GHMC unable to see the #Littering happening here and why is there no #Fines on violators?”
He highlighted that littering and trash dumping were becoming a serious problem on the route between Izzath Nagar and Yashoda Hospital. “I’ve complained many times to @CommissionrGHMC @gadwalvijayainc @GHMCOnline @ZC_SLP, but no strict action is being taken to stop the #Littering & #Dumping of #Trash. Please make Hyderabad #LitterFree,” Chaitanya urged.
In response to the complaint, the GHMC official handle acknowledged the issue, saying, “Dear citizen, the area Sanitation team is informed to inspect the site and attend to it. @Dc21Ghmc @AMOHchandanagar.”
The ongoing issue of garbage accumulation and littering along busy roads in Hyderabad highlights the need for greater enforcement of sanitation rules, including better monitoring through CCTV surveillance and stricter penalties for violators. Residents continue to call for more immediate action to address these concerns and ensure the cleanliness of the city.
