Nigerian National Deported from Hyderabad for Illegal Stay

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), acting on credible information, apprehended a Nigerian national identified as Ali-Enuke Fortunatus Akudinanwa @ Fortune, aged 30, native of Enugu State, Nigeria. He entered India on a student visa in 2016 and continued to stay in Hyderabad even after his visa and passport had expired. Police said he was earning a livelihood by working as a DJ in pubs and was found moving suspiciously in Langer House police station limits.

FRRO Confirms Expired Visa Status

During enquiry, no drugs were seized from his possession, but officials confirmed with FRRO that his visa and passport had expired and he was overstaying in India. Police stated that he was also indulging in drug peddling for easy money. With the cooperation of FRRO, H-NEW completed the deportation process and sent him back to Nigeria.

Police appealed to the public to refrain from substance abuse and urged parents to monitor their children to ensure they do not fall prey to drugs. Information related to drug abuse can be passed on to H-NEW at 8712661601. The operation was carried out by Inspector Bala Swamy, Sub-Inspector B Manoj Kumar and H-NEW staff under the supervision of Dy Commissioner of Police YVS Sudheendra.
