C.V. Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, invoked Section 67(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli (No. IX), to issue the order. The decision comes amid ongoing security preparedness measures in the Twin Cities, following recent terror-related incidents in various parts of India.

The police stated that the sound of firecrackers could be mistaken for gunfire or explosions, potentially triggering panic or disrupting public order. In sensitive areas, such confusion could interfere with emergency response operations and place additional pressure on security personnel.

The public has been urged to avoid using firecrackers at gatherings or events in the interest of safety. The order is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

Violations of this directive will initiate legal action under applicable laws. The police have appealed for public cooperation to maintain peace and security in the region.
