Dial-112 action prevents major fire after short circuit in Hyderabad apartment
Hyderabad: A fire incident at Garden Tower apartments near First Lancer, Hyderabad, was brought under control on Monday morning, June 16, 2025, following a prompt response by emergency services coordinated through the Telangana Dial-112 system.
The fire, reported at 10:17 AM on June 16, was traced to an electrical short circuit in an air conditioning unit. The building’s proximity to a school and a petrol pump raised concerns of a possible larger emergency.
The Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) received the alert and immediately coordinated with the Masab Tank Police Station and the Fire Department. Emergency teams reached the location within minutes, evacuated residents, and extinguished the fire. No injuries or casualties were reported.
Dial-112, which integrates multiple emergency services including Police, Fire, Ambulance, Women’s Safety, Child Protection, and Disaster Management, enabled a swift, multi-agency response. Authorities have praised the coordination and efficiency of the teams involved and encouraged the public to use Dial-112 for any emergency.
