Migrant vendors tried to sell weapon for profit

Police said Vijay Yadav had purchased the pistol, a 0.7 mm weapon, three months ago from one Sonu Kumar of Bihar for ₹58,000. He kept it with the intention of reselling it for profit. The duo later attempted to sell the firearm to anti-social elements by showing its pictures to prospective buyers.

Weapon, mobile phones seized

Police recovered one country-made pistol and two mobile phones (Oppo and Vivo) from the accused. The main supplier, Sonu Kumar, is absconding.

The operation was led by D Bikshapathi, Inspector, Special Zonal Crime Team, under the supervision of G Venkateswar Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, CCS, Hyderabad, along with Falaknuma police.

City police advised individuals in illegal possession of arms to surrender them at the nearest police station, warning that they are maintaining strict surveillance on anti-social activities.
