HYDERABAD: As part of the bye-election to the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency, District Election Officer and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan has constituted a District Grievance Committee to address complaints and monitor Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations, in line with Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.

The committee will oversee grievances, track cash seizures, and ensure that MCC norms are strictly implemented across Hyderabad district. It will also supervise the functioning of Flying Squad Teams (FSTs) and Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), which are tasked with intercepting unaccounted cash and valuables during the election period.

Public urged to carry limited cash, cooperate with authorities

The District Election Officer has advised citizens to carry only limited cash and valuables while travelling within the city. Voters have been urged to maintain transparency about the source and purpose of any money they carry and to cooperate with authorities to facilitate fair and transparent elections.

Committee to operate from GHMC Head Office

The District Grievance Committee will function from the office of the Chairperson, Additional Commissioner (Estates), GHMC, located on the third floor of the GHMC Head Office at Tank Bund, Hyderabad.

The committee comprises the following officials:
