Man Arrested for Firing at Dawat-e-Ramzan Expo in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have arrested a man for allegedly firing shots into the air during an altercation at the 'Dawat-e-Ramzan' exhibition, organized by Anam Mirza, sister of tennis player Sania Mirza. The incident occurred on March 29 (Saturday) under the jurisdiction of the Gudimalkapur police station.
According to police reports, the altercation initially took place between the owners of a perfume shop and a toy shop at the exhibition. "A minor dispute arose between the shop owners, which was later resolved. However, in the midst of the situation, the accused, identified as Haseebuddin alias Hyder, unnecessarily fired two rounds into the air using his licensed pistol," stated the Gudimalkapur police inspector.
Authorities confirmed that Haseebuddin was not directly involved in the altercation. The accused, a former Sarpanch and a resident of AC Guards Paramount Colony, holds a firearm license issued from Nampally. "He claims he fired in self-defense, alleging that he was under attack. We have recovered the shell casings and seized the weapon. A case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident," police officials added.
The investigation is ongoing to uncover additional details regarding the motive and legality of the accused’s actions.
