Hyderabad Cricket scene heats up as CRYA tournament moves into week 2
Hyderabad: The Catholic Reddy Youth Association (CRYA) Cricket Premier League 2025 has reached its second week, with 18 of the 50 matches already completed. The tournament has been met with high energy and excitement, drawing in cricket fans in the city. With competitive matches and thrilling performances, the league continues to build a strong sense of community and enthusiasm for the sport in Hyderabad.
Top Individual Performances
Kranthi ABD of Rayolina Champions delivered an outstanding performance with 188 runs, while Sujith Bonam of Christ the King contributed 120 runs. Other notable individual performances include TR Manoj (100 runs for Guardian Angels), Dodda Pradeep (92 runs for ABS), Keerthi (92 runs for Guardian Angels), Kishore Reddy (85 runs for Rayolina Champions), Bharat Reddy Sings Reddy (72 runs for Elev8Edge), Boyapati Joseph (68 runs for Dhatri Dragons), Gali Sudheer (66 runs for Guardian Angels), and Vatti Thanush (61 runs for Blessed Challengers).
Top Bowling Performances
The top bowlers of the week all took three wickets. Among them, Prem Kumar from Design Walls impressed with his performance against Guardian Angels, while Rohan Reddy Thumma of Blessed Challengers delivered against ABS. Gade Anvesh from JMJ showed his skill against Dhatri Dragons, and Tharun Reddy from Elev8Edge had a strong showing against Holy Hitters. Dodda Pradeep from ABS also claimed three wickets against Holy Hitters, and Sampreet and Deepu from Holy Hitters took three wickets each in their match against ABS. Lastly, Jose Aduri from Rayolina took three wickets in the match against JMJ.
Best Matches of the Week
The best matches of the week featured thrilling finishes. Christ the King posted a total of 247 runs, but Rayolina Champions managed to chase it down with 250 runs. In another exciting clash, JMJ and Rayolina Champions ended up in two super overs, with JMJ emerging victorious in a nail-biting finish.
Speaking with Hyderabad Mail, tournament organizer Allam Nithin Reddy expressed his satisfaction with the league's progress. "We’ve completed 18 matches so far, and the enthusiasm for the game is growing by the day," he said. Nithin emphasized that the tournament is about competition and fostering unity and community through cricket. "Our goal is to bring people together and create lasting connections," he added.
Hyderabad Mail co-sponsored Team JMJ Warriors, which continues to lead the table with three wins out of four matches played. Their consistent performance has made them one of the standout teams of the tournament so far.
The CRYA Cricket Premier League, which began on February 15, 2025, will continue until late March or early April, depending on the schedule. The league's auction, held on January 9, 2025, saw a wide range of player bids, with the highest reaching 25,000 rupees.
