The commissioner visited Chaderghat, Moosarambagh and MGBS, where several residential areas were inundated. At Chaderghat, he reviewed relief measures in colonies submerged by Musi waters.

Ranganath appealed to residents in flooded zones to shift to safer areas. Food packets were supplied through drones to people stranded on rooftops.

At MGBS, the commissioner examined areas where floodwaters entered after the retaining wall of the Musi river collapsed. He instructed Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams to remain alert during the Dasara holidays to ensure passengers do not face difficulties.

He appreciated the rescue operations taken up when Musi water entered the MGBS premises late on Friday night. “Hundreds of passengers were evacuated safely by DRF, police, RTC and GHMC staff. Their work is commendable,” Ranganath said.

The commissioner also urged residents of riverside localities to remain cautious in view of the continuing Musi floods. He said that if rains ease, water levels are expected to recede by evening, but DRF, NDRF, SDRF, GHMC and police teams would remain on alert.

“We are continuously monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions,” Ranganath told reporters.
