Two IT employees killed as car rams into electric pole in Ghatkesar

Hyderabad: Two IT employees were killed and two others critically injured in a road accident early Saturday morning, on June 7, 2025, under the Ghatkesar Police Station limits in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The accident occurred on the Madharam–Edulabad road when a car lost control and crashed into an electric pole. The deceased were identified as Bhargav, a resident of Kuntloor in Hayathnagar Mandal, and Varshith from Sainikpuri.

The injured, Praveen Yadav and Dinesh, were taken to a hospital and are undergoing treatment. Police said all four victims worked for an IT company in Madhapur and had reportedly attended a party at a guesthouse in Madharam before the incident. Locals attributed the accident to overspeeding.

In a similar incident on May 21, three young men died and one was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a Skoda car and a DCM vehicle near Narayana College in Kuntloor village, under Hayathnagar Police Station limits. The crash took place around 5:45 a.m. on a curve opposite the AEGIS LPG bunk.

The Skoda was traveling from Pasumamula towards Kuntloor, while the DCM vehicle approached from the opposite direction. The impact killed Pinninti Chandra Sena Reddy (24), Chunchu Thrinadh Reddy (24), and Chunchu Varshith Reddy (23), all residents of Kuntloor. Another passenger, Alimeti Pawan Kalyan Reddy (24), was seriously injured and admitted to Sunrise Hospital in Hayathnagar.

On May 8, a man was killed and another injured on the Outer Ring Road near Himayat Sagar. Shiva Keshav, a recovery van driver, died instantly when a speeding Toyota car crashed into a stationary vehicle and his van near Exit 17. He had been changing a tyre at the time. Another person at the scene was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Earlier, on May 2, D. Thirumalesh (30) died after losing control of his car on the ORR near Adibatla. The vehicle, believed to be speeding, hit a median and overturned several times between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. Police suspect the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
