Fire at Hussain Sagar during event with Governor & Kishan Reddy; Three injured in blaze
Hyderabad: A fire accident during a fireworks display at Hussain Sagar on Sunday night, January 26, 2025, left three people injured, one of them seriously. The incident occurred as part of the 'Bharat Mata Maha Aarti' program, which was organized by the Bharat Mata Foundation at Peopleโs Plaza, Necklace Road.
During the fireworks display, flames from the crackers fell onto the boats carrying additional firecrackers, causing them to explode. The two boats, operated by the Telangana Tourism Department, were completely destroyed in the blaze.
Seven people were aboard the boats at the time of the accident, and three sustained injuries. One person suffered severe burns to his hand, while another two had minor injuries. The injured were promptly rushed to a hospital and are currently undergoing treatment. However, the remaining four people aboard the boats were unharmed.
The event, attended by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and other dignitaries, had concluded when the fireworks display was set to begin. Following the program, the fireworks equipment was transported to the center of Hussain Sagar in two boats, where the incident took place.
Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and carried out rescue operations.
