HRC Orders Nalanda College to Return Certificates
Commission Terms Action Rights Violation
The Telangana Human Rights Commission, chaired by Justice Shameem Akther, has directed Nalanda College of Pharmacy, located on Cherlapally–Hyderabad Road in Nalgonda, to immediately return original educational certificates and issue transfer certificates to 16 B.Pharmacy students of the 2021–2025 batch. The Commission observed that withholding certificates on the ground of pending government scholarship reimbursements amounts to violation of constitutional and human rights under Article 21.
Management Summoned for Enquiry
Treating education as a basic human right, the Commission recommended interim relief for the affected students and summoned the college chairman/director and principal for enquiry on September 8, 2025. Copies of the order were also forwarded to the District Collector, Nalgonda, and the Telangana Council for Higher Education for compliance.
