Hyderabad: A 35-year-old homemaker died under suspicious circumstances at her rented apartment in Jamuna Towers, Malakpet, Hyderabad, on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

The deceased has been identified as S. Sirisha, who had been living with her husband, Vinay Kumar, and her in-laws.

According to Sirisha's family, they believe that her husband and in-laws may have been involved in her death. Vinay Kumar initially told them that Sirisha had suffered a heart attack and collapsed at home. However, when her family arrived in Hyderabad, they became suspicious after learning that Vinay had attempted to move her body to their native village in Domalapenta, Srisailam, in an ambulance.

The family then contacted the police, who reviewed CCTV footage and traced the ambulance. Vinay was subsequently detained. Sirisha's body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy.

Relatives reported that Sirisha had visible injuries on her neck, face, and other parts of her body, leading them to suspect she had been assaulted and killed. Based on their complaint, the Chaderghat police have initiated an investigation.
