During a recent visit to the area, Ashok Reddy, HMWSSB Managing Director, noticed that the excessive sewage from this unauthorized connection was overflowing on the main road causing inconvenience for the pedestrians and motorists. He ordered the authorities to address the issue and take action against the restaurant. Acting on his orders, the staff visited the restaurant, disconnected the illegal connection, and removed the unauthorized sewerage pipeline.

Meanwhile, Ashok Reddy urged the consumers to approach the concerned authorities to regularize illegal drain and sewerage connections to avoid disconnection. He also appealed to the managements of hospitals, hotels, bakeries, malls, and other commercial and multi-storey building complexes to install slit chambers in their establishments.

The water board has warned consumers against acquiring illegal drinking water taps and sewerage pipeline connections without permission as this could result in criminal action. Officials have requested the citizens to report illegal taps and sewerage connections to the water board's vigilance team by calling on these numbers 9989998100 and 9989987135.
