Hyderabad: On the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, June 2, 2025, the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, and the First Lady, Sudha Dev Varma, hosted a ceremonial felicitation for the winners of Miss World 2025 at the historic Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad.

A special high tea was organized to celebrate the achievements and humanitarian efforts of the titleholders. The event was attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary K. Rama Krishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, DGP Jitender, Principal Secretary to the Governor Dana Kishore, and other dignitaries.

In his address, the Governor extended greetings to the people of Telangana in India and abroad, reflecting on the state's journey since its formation on June 2, 2014. He noted Telangana’s progress in inclusive development, cultural resurgence, and governance.

The Governor also launched a new eco-initiative under Raj Bhavan Telangana to promote the production of biodegradable leaf plates by tribal communities. The programme focuses on training women and youth in remote areas, turning traditional practices into sustainable livelihoods. In a symbolic gesture, all food served at the event was presented on these eco-friendly plates.

“This is not just a programme,” the Governor said, “but a movement, for sustainability, dignity, and our planet.” The Governor paid tribute to the Miss World 2025 titleholders for their inspiring journeys. Miss Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, who won the Miss World crown, was recognized for her resilience after overcoming cancer surgery at the age of 16. Miss Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, the First Runner-Up, was honored for her strength and grace.

Second and Third Runner-Up winners, Miss Maja Kladja of Poland and Miss Aureili Joachim of Martinique, were commended for their representation of empowerment and diversity. Other titleholders, including Jéssica Scandiuzzi Pedroso, Krishnah Marie Gravidez, and Jasmine Odette Stringer, were also acknowledged for their contributions.

The Governor praised the Government of Telangana for its smooth hosting of the international event. Delegates visited UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient temples, and scenic locations, offering a glimpse into Telangana’s cultural and natural heritage. The evening brought together global recognition and local pride, highlighting Telangana’s commitment to sustainability, cultural identity, and international engagement.

Miss World Contestants Bid Farewell to Hyderabad

Contestants from across the world concluded their visit to Hyderabad after participating in the Miss World pageant and related events. Delegates from countries including the Czech Republic, Guadeloupe, Italy, Moldova, North Macedonia, Curaçao, Panama, Ukraine, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, England, Guyana, USA, Argentina, Madagascar, Senegal, and Bolivia, as well as Miss Togo, Miss Kyrgyzstan, Miss Haiti, Miss Nigeria, Miss Uganda, Miss Equatorial Guinea, and Miss Sierra Leone, departed from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The visit served to strengthen international goodwill and spotlight Telangana on a global platform.
