He sustained severe head and chest injuries and died on the spot. Passersby tried to assist and alerted authorities. His body was later shifted for autopsy. Hayathnagar police have registered a case of negligence causing death and are investigating the truck driver’s role.

In a separate incident on Wednesday night, two individuals were seriously injured when a speeding car hit a road divider near the CRPF campus on Barkas Road in the Old City. Eyewitnesses reported the vehicle was travelling at high speed before the driver lost control.

Locals rescued the injured occupants and rushed them to a hospital. Police later cleared the wreckage with a JCB, and traffic movement resumed.

Also on Wednesday night, a 25-year-old man died in a crash on Suraram Road. Police said the victim’s bike skidded, causing him to fall and sustain fatal injuries. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased.

On June 7, a fatal accident claimed the lives of two IT employees and left two others critically injured on the Madharam–Edulabad road under Ghatkesar police limits. The victims, returning from a party, were in a car that lost control and struck an electric pole.

Bhargav from Kuntloor and Varshith from Sainikpuri died at the scene, while Praveen Yadav and Dinesh remain hospitalised. Police suspected speeding was a factor.

In an earlier case on May 21, three young men died and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision between a Skoda car and a DCM vehicle near Narayana College in Kuntloor. The crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. on a curve near an LPG bunk.

The deceased were identified as Pinninti Chandra Sena Reddy (24), Chunchu Thrinadh Reddy (24), and Chunchu Varshith Reddy (23), all residents of Kuntloor. Alimeti Pawan Kalyan Reddy (24) survived with serious injuries and was admitted to Sunrise Hospital in Hayathnagar.
