International Yoga Day: Yoga & plantation drives at Kokapet and Manikonda
Hyderabad: The Dhruvansh Organisation will conduct Harith Yoga sessions at two locations in the city to mark International Yoga Day, June 21, 2025. The events will be held at Kotha Cheruvu in Kokapet and Mushkin Cheruvu in Manikonda.
The schedule at both locations includes loosening exercises from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, followed by a yoga session from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A plantation drive will take place after the yoga session.
Participants are requested to bring their own yoga mats and water bottles. Drinking water refill stations and saplings for plantation will be provided. Organisers have advised participants to follow instructions during the demonstration.
Speaking to Hyderabad Mail, Madhulika S. Chowdary, environmental activist and founder of Dhruvansh Organisation, said, “Join us for Harith Yoga. Yoga is not just a practice, it is a journey toward inner freedom and holistic health. Let your body flow into wellness, one stretch at a time.”
Indrani, a yoga teacher from Hyderabad, said, “Harith Yoga means practicing yoga in nature. It helps reduce stress, boosts mood and improves focus. Practicing outdoors strengthens our bond with the environment and promotes sustainable living.”
International Yoga Day is observed annually on June 21. The United Nations adopted the day in 2014 following a proposal by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The resolution received support from 177 countries and the first International Yoga Day was celebrated worldwide on June 21, 2015. This year’s events in Hyderabad aim to promote both personal well-being and environmental awareness.
