Harish Rao defends KTR amid Formula E probe, alleges political vendetta
Banjara Hills: Bharat rastra Samithi(BRS) senior leader and former minister Harish Rao defended BRS Working President KTR regarding the Formula E investigation while speaking to the media at KTR's residence in Banjara Hills on Tuesday. Rao emphasized that the Telangana High Court's recent verdict called for an investigation and did not confirm any corruption.
"The High Court has only directed an investigation, not a verdict convicting anyone," said Rao and added that KTR appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday and would comply with the next investigation notice on the 9th.
The former minister claimed the case against KTR was politically motivated. He suggested it was filed because KTR had been questioning the Congress government's failures and Revanth Reddy's unfulfilled promises. "This is attention diversion by Revanth Reddy, facing public criticism over the farmers' bond issue," Rao asserted.

Rao contrasted KTR's case with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's past legal troubles. He said, "Revanth Reddy was caught on camera with bundles of money and went to jail. Meanwhile, KTR brought Formula E racing to Hyderabad, enhancing the city's brand image."
On the Formula E project, Rao noted that multiple states competed to host the event. He questioned how corruption could happen without any money changing hands. He noted that the event's organizer, Greenco, suffered big losses in managing it.
The BRS leader said his party would continue to challenge the government's actions. "We will follow up until you implement every promise, no matter how many cases you file," Rao added. He emphasized the party's commitment to Telangana's development and welfare.
Rao announced that their legal cell would review the High Court judgment. Then, they would decide whether to approach the Supreme Court. He expressed confidence in the judiciary.
In conclusion, Rao recalled the party's resistance history and mentioned KTR's previous imprisonment in Warangal jail during the Telangana movement. "We have faced challenges before and aren't afraid of illegal arrests. We will continue to stand with the people of Telangana," he said.
