BRS senior leader Harish Rao condemns targeted campaign against KTR

Hyderabad: Bhartiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao Thanneeru criticized the Congress-led state government for orchestrating a targeted campaign against former minister KTR through raids at his brother-in-law's farmhouse in Janwada.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), former minister Harish Rao said, "As part of smearing mud on our party's working president and ex-minister KTR, the state government is conspiring to charge drugs against KTR's brother-in-law. This is a classic example of political witch hunt by the current government."

As part of diversion politics, the present Congress government is campaigning on social media, circulating false information such as drugs were seized during the Janwada Farmhouse. The government officials knew about a family function at Raj Pakala’s residence. For the last two days, state ministers and the Congress Party social media wing claim bombs will explode on Saturday and Sunday. If houses are attacked, it's clear this is a pre-planned government action, claims Rao.

Rao criticizes Rahul Gandhi ‘Mohabbat Ka Dukaan’

“I strongly condemn the attempt to attack a family function and portray it as a rave party. They are trying to portray a family function with old people, children, and husband and wife as a drug party. Even if neither KTR nor his spouse was present, some are linking them to the party,” said Rao.

The Revanth Reddy government's attempt to damage KTR's image is an act of political factionalism. Rao has called on law enforcement and excise departments to maintain independence and resist what he termed as "government pressure" in the investigation. Rao further claimed the raids aim to tarnish KTR's reputation through his family.

“This drama is to divert attention from the growing public opposition to the government. I warn you to avoid cheap politics by obstructing your family members without directly confronting them,” said Rao.

In another tweet criticizing Leader of opposition Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Harish Rao said, “When individuals can’t confront their opponents directly, they often target their families. The Congress government, unable to face KTR and the BRS party, are resorting to cheap politics. I condemn the vendetta politics and diversion tactics employed by Revanth Reddy’s government, including the illegal arrests of BRS MLAs and Party cadres. The true face of Rahul Gandhi ‘Mohabbat Ka Dukaan’ is completely exposed.”
