In response, the official Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) handle acknowledged the concern, stating, “Dear citizen, inconvenience regretted, the issue has been brought to the notice of AMOH Mehdipatnam @Ghmc_cir12_Amoh for attention. @DC_12Mpatnam.”

Speaking with Hyderabad Mail, the resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed frustration, stating, “This is the same old story. Despite numerous complaints, there has been no response from the officials. This problem is right in front of the vegetable market entrance. I don’t understand how people are expected to live in such an unhygienic environment.”

The absence of proper dustbins may contribute to garbage being discarded on the streets. Citizens are also encouraged to take responsibility by refraining from littering and ensuring that their waste is handed over to GHMC vehicles for proper disposal.

In a related incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Uppal recently took a strong stance against littering. By monitoring CCTV footage, the department fined a violator Rs. 500. A post from the department read, “Caught, fined, and connected to the garbage collector. Fine levied ₹500. @SwachhBharatGov @SwachSurvekshan @GHMCOnline. #LitterFreeHyderabad.”

This move gained attention, with several citizens suggesting that imposing fines might be an effective solution to curb garbage dumping on roads.
