Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana is set to host the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards (GTFA) on June 14, 2025, at 6 p.m., at Hall No. 4, HITEX, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

In preparation for the awards, the Government, through G.O.Rt. No. 1120 dated August 22, 2024, constituted a committee chaired by B. Narsing Rao to frame the modalities, rules, regulations, nomenclature, and logo for the Gaddar Awards. Subsequently, various jury committees were formed to evaluate entries across categories.

A jury chaired by actress Jayasudha was formed under G.O.Ms. No. 470, dated April 11, 2025, to scrutinize feature films in Telugu and Urdu, films on national integration, children’s films, environment, heritage, debut works, wholesome entertainment, and technical contributions. Another jury, constituted through G.O.Rt. No. 594 dated May 12, 2025, was assigned to select the best books and critical writings on Telugu cinema.

Additionally, a committee under veteran actor M. Muralimohan, established via G.O.Rt. No. 595 dated May 12, 2025, focused on selecting special awards and films produced between June 2, 2014, and December 31, 2023. The jury reports were submitted to the Hon’ble Chief Minister on May 28 and 29, 2025, and have since been accepted by the Government.

The Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024 include several special honours. The NTR National Film Award will be presented to Nandamuri Balakrishna, while the Paidi Jairaj Film Award for Indian film personality goes to director Mani Ratnam. The B. N. Reddy Award for Telugu film direction is awarded to Sukumar. Veteran producer Atluri Purna Chandra Rao will receive the Nagireddy and Chakrapani Award, and the Kantha Rao Award for Telugu acting goes to Vijay Deverakonda. The Raghupathi Venkaiah Award is conferred on noted writer Yandamuri Veerendranath.

In the feature films category, Kalki 2898 AD has been selected as the First Best Feature Film, followed by Pottel and Lucky Bhasker. The best feature film promoting national integration and social upliftment is Committee Kurrollu, which also won recognition for best debut direction by Yedu Vamsee. 35 Chinna Katha Kadu was named Best Children’s Film, while Razakar was awarded for its portrayal of environment, heritage, and history. The award for Best Wholesome Entertainment Film (Dr. M. Prabhaker Reddy Uttama Prajadarana Chitram) goes to Aay... Mem Friends Andi.

In individual categories, the award for Best Director goes to Nag Ashwin for Kalki 2898 AD. Allu Arjun is named Best Leading Actor for Pushpa - 2, while Nivetha Thomas wins Best Leading Actress for her role in 35 Chinna Katha Kadu. S. J. Surya and Saranya Pradeep are recognised as Best Supporting Actor and Actress respectively. The award for Best Music Director goes to Bheems Ceciroleo for Razakar.

Sid Sriram is awarded Best Male Playback Singer for the song Nizame Ne Chebutunna from Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, and Shreya Ghoshal wins Best Female Playback Singer for Suseti Aggi Ravva in Pushpa - 2. The Best Comedian award is shared by Satya and Vennela Kishore for Mattu Vadalara - 2. Best Child Artist awards go to Master Arundev Pothula (35 Chinna Katha Kadu) and Baby Harika (Mercy Killing).

Best Story Writer – Siva Paladugu (Music Shop Murthy),
Best Screenplay – Venky Atluri (Lucky Bhasker),
Best Lyricist – Chandra Bose (Raju Yadav),
Best Cinematographer – Vishwanath Reddy (Gaami),
Best Editor – Navin Nooli (Lucky Bhasker),
Best Audiographer – Aravind Menon (Gaami),
Best Choreographer – Ganesh Acharya (Devara, song Ayudha Puja),
Best Art Director – Adnithin Zihani Choudary (Kalki 2898 AD),
Best Action Choreographer – K. Chandra Shekar Rathod (Gangster),
Best Makeup Artist – Nalla Sreenu (Razakar),
Best Costume Designers – Archana Rao and Ajay Kumar (Kalki 2898 AD).

Special Jury Awards have been announced for Dulquer Salmaan (Lucky Bhasker), Ananya Nagalla (Pottel), Sujith and Sandeep (KA), and Prashanth Reddy and Rajesh Kallepally (Raju Yadav). Jury Special Mention goes to Faria Abdullah for her rap performance in Mattu Vadalara - 2. In the literary category, the award for Best Book on Telugu Cinema goes to Mana Cinema First Reel, authored by Rentala Jayadeva.
