Telangana HC clears decks for conducting Group-I exams
Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Tuesday cleared the decks for conducting Group-I examinations after aspirants had requested the Congress government to postpone the upcoming Mains examination saying legal disputes are pending before the court.
The qualifying candidates had said a total of 14 legal cases including those related to the preliminary final key released by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), GO 29, local area and ST reservation were pending before the court. They argued that the state government should conduct the Mains examinations after these cases are resolved by the high court.
Giving a breather to the recruitment agency, the high court dismissed all the petitions and gave a green signal to go ahead with the conduct of Mains which is scheduled to begin on October 21, 2024, Monday.
The TGPSC conducted the Group-I prelims on June 9 and over 3 lakh candidates appeared for the exams. Subsequently, the Commission issued preliminary and final keys. Following this, results for Group-I prelims were announced and a total of 31,382 candidates in 1:50 ratio were selected for the Mains examination which will be held later this month.
