Hyderabad: Greensainikpuri, the federation representing the Northeastern Colonies of Secunderabad, has continued its campaign urging government officials to address the connectivity issues in the region. On Day 22 of the campaign, residents demanded that officials prioritize a visit to Secunderabad, beginning with the RK Puram Rail Over Bridge (ROB). The residents specifically called for the intervention of the GHMC Commissioner and the Commissioner of HYDRAA.

The campaigners took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express their concerns, tagging the Commissioner of GHMC and the Commissioner of HYDRAA. Their post read, "Day 22, Please visit our Secunderabad starting with RK Puram ROB. We are being forced to commute on the wrong way due to the illegal closure of the service road, which is a mandate for the Rail Over Bridge. We urge for SRDP, a new parallel flyover, and the redesigning of the junction."

The campaign follows recent inspections conducted by GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi and HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, who reviewed several incomplete flyovers in the city, including the Falaknuma ROB, Nalgonda X Flyover, and Uppal Flyover. During these inspections, the commissioners directed officials to expedite the railway works at Falaknuma and accelerate land acquisition for the Nalgonda X and Uppal flyovers. Chief Engineer Devanand, along with other senior officials, accompanied them during the visit.

In an official letter dated September 18, 2019, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) requested several documents related to the closure of the service road at RK Puram Flyover, which has been causing significant inconvenience to local residents. The letter referenced the Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad's request from September 10, 2018 and urged officials to provide ownership documents, permission for the construction of a wall blocking the service road, the erection of blue tin sheets on the flyover, and any relevant land acquisition details.

Additionally, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has addressed a query regarding the jurisdiction over the service road under the Ramakrishna Puram flyover. In their response, the SCB clarified that the road inside the signals office, which runs parallel to the flyover and leads to the Cantonment entrance, is not under their management or maintenance. Furthermore, the SCB stated that it could not confirm whether the road in question is classified as a service road based on the available records.

Residents of Greensainikpuri continue to advocate for improved infrastructure, hoping that these issues will be addressed promptly to alleviate the challenges faced by commuters in Northeast Secunderabad.
