‘Golden kite’ worth Rs. 1cr creates frenzy in Hyderabad’s old city, deets inside
Hyderabad: As the skies of Hyderabad are filled with vibrant kites, a “golden kite” whose worth is Rs. 1 crore has caused quite a sensation in the old city area of Hyderabad on Monday.
A video of a “Gold Man” who claimed to own a kite worth Rs. 1 crore and made of gold is going viral on social media. It is also reported that the manja worth Rs. 40 lakh was used to fly the kite. The video has gained significant attention from netizens.
The social media users have demanded that the police take action by arresting the man behind the claim and seizing the so-called golden kite. They wanted to know who would bear the stampede-like consequences if the kite falls and people run after it to catch it.
However, some have criticized the person who made these claims. The netizens alleged that the claim made by the “Gold Man” is nothing but a publicity stunt just to create hype on social media. They tried to reason with others saying if the kite were truly made of gold, it wouldn’t fly. They also said that only lightweight materials like paper can fly. The news has also put the South Zone police on alert as residents of the old city have concerns that the “golden kite” could lead to clashes or accidents.
Meanwhile, the “Gold Man” identified as Suryabhai from Hyderabad’s Old City has issued a clarification. Requesting the media persons to avoid sharing misinformation, Suryabhai said that he and the BRS leader Ch Malla Reddy attended a small event on Monday morning and flew a “golden-coloured” paper kite.
He added that when a media person asked him whether it was indeed a “golden kite”, he jokingly said, “yes” and some people made the clip viral without providing complete context of the conversation. The “Gold Man” has also clarified that he did not organize such an event and apologized to the people.
