Servant Theft Case Cracked in Tolichowki, Gold Worth Rs.30 Lakh Recovered
Tolichowki: Tolichowki Police on 4 September 2025 apprehended a woman in connection with a grave servant theft case and recovered 30 tulas (300 grams) of gold ornaments worth about ₹30,00,000. The case (Cr. No.124/2025, U/s 306 BNS) was registered on 20 August following a complaint by Mir Shafi Ali Khan, who reported that his mother’s ornaments were missing from their residence.
Accused identified and arrested
Investigation revealed that the family’s maid, Sabhia Begum, had committed the theft. She confessed to stealing the jewellery to clear debts related to her daughter’s education, mortgaging the ornaments at OM Jewelers and Manappuram Finance Ltd. Acting on credible information, police traced her near OM Jewelers and recovered the stolen property from her possession.
The accused, Sabhia Begum (36), a resident of Nizam Colony, Tolichowki, was arrested and the ornaments seized.
Police efforts appreciated
The case was cracked by SHO L. Ramesh Naik, Addl. Inspector G. Balraj, SIP G. Raghavendra and the crime team of Tolichowki PS, under the supervision of ACP Syed Fiaz and guidance of DCP G. Chandra Mohan. Police commended their swift action and professionalism in detecting the case and securing the recovery.
