According to Abdullapurmet police officials, the girl was eating peanuts bought from a vendor and felt suffocated when the peanut got stuck in her throat.

The parents became anxious when their daughter started gasping for breath. They immediately took her to a local hospital and the doctors then referred her to Niloufer Hospital at Nampally. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the children’s hospital.

The doctors informed the family members that the girl choked on peanuts which obstructed the airway and it resulted in her death.

The local police have registered a case.

Last November, a class 6 student at a private school in Secunderabad died after choking on chapatis he was eating during a lunch break.

The deceased student, identified as Viral Jain, tried to eat three chapatis at a time, and it got stuck in his throat. The boy struggled to breathe due to choking on food. The boy’s father, Gowtham Jain, informed the police that he received a call from his son’s school (Akshara International School) after he choked on food while eating his lunch and had trouble breathing.

He immediately took his son to Geetha Nursing Home, Marredpally, for treatment, but the hospital staff advised him to shift him to Apollo Hospital, Secunderabad, where the doctor pronounced him brought dead.
