The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has intensified its Road Safety Drive to restore rain-damaged roads across the city. Repair operations, including pothole filling, catch pit works, cover replacements and central median restorations, are being carried out day and night. Commissioner R.V. Karnan is personally monitoring progress, while Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Sahadeva Ratnakar is supervising field operations.

Out of 14,050 potholes identified, 11,442 have been repaired till September 4. On Wednesday, the number stood at 11,313, with 129 more filled on Thursday. GHMC also repaired 574 catch pits, replaced 328 covers, and restored 12 central medians. Zone-wise, 2,509 potholes have been repaired in L.B. Nagar, 1,940 in Charminar, 1,520 in Khairatabad, 1,303 in Serilingampally, 1,837 in Kukatpally, and 2,333 in Secunderabad.

R.V. Karnan has instructed engineering teams to complete repair works on priority, particularly along Ganesh immersion procession routes, to ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
