Hyderabad: Only licensed pet dogs will be allowed inside KBR Park, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan announced today, June 3, 2025, during an inspection of ongoing development works at the park.

Commissioner R.V. Karnan instructed officials to strictly enforce the rule, highlighting the importance of responsible pet ownership to maintain cleanliness and safety in the park. He also directed that walker-friendly infrastructure projects be completed efficiently and with innovative planning.

The inspection was attended by Additional Commissioner Subhadra, Deputy Commissioner Sammayya, Executive Engineer Manya Nayak, Superintending Engineer Sri Lakshmi, Deputy Executive Engineer Harish, Circle Executive Engineer Vijay Kumar, and other officials.

Later, the Commissioner reviewed progress on flyovers and underpasses under the H-City project. He sought confirmation from engineers on compliance with court guidelines concerning construction in sensitive zones. Officials assured him that all works adhere to the prescribed legal framework.

Earlier, on June 1, Commissioner Karnan visited Malakpet to assess ongoing joint operations by GHMC and the Water Board aimed at resolving traffic congestion caused by drainage overflow. He reviewed night-time drainage works and the RDP works from Necklace Road Railway Station to Kundan Bagh.

He directed engineering teams to speed up the work, increase manpower, and ensure 24-hour operations to avoid further public inconvenience. Superintending Engineer Maheshwar Reddy briefed the Commissioner, stating that while there was no immediate risk of congestion, completing the works quickly would offer a long-term solution. Maintenance Chief Engineer Sahadev Ratnakar, Zonal SE Maheshwar Reddy, Water Board officials, and other GHMC staff were present during the site visit.
