How to update your mobile number on GHMC property tax portal, direct link inside

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made it easier for the property taxpayers to update their mobile numbers linked to their tax records. This facility removes the need for a visit to the municipal offices.

The assessees can now update their mobile numbers on the GHMC’s online property tax website directly from their homes. The mobile numbers updated in the property tax system will enable the officials to send regular alerts and information related to property tax and other services to the citizens.

It is pertinent to note that a valid mobile number is mandatory for payments made online, through BCPOS machines, or at Citizen Service Centres. The property tax system will send one time passwords (OTPs) to the customers when they attempt to access the property tax details and to pay the tax online.

Here’s how the customers can update their mobile number:

• Visit the GHMC website
• Find the Online Payment > Property Tax >Update Mobile Number
• Or use this direct link – https://onlinepayments.ghmc.gov.in/PTax/PT_MobileUpdate
• Select the respective GHMC circle and input your current mobile number (all Property Tax Identification Numbers (PTINs) linked to it will appear on screen)
  When you hit the ‘update’ button, you will be asked to select if the mobile is working or not working
• If you choose working, you will receive an OTP on the old number, and upon verification, the new number will be updated.
• If not working, the OTP will be sent to the new mobile. Once the OTP is entered, the details will be sent to the Deputy Commissioner of the circle concerned, who will in turn verify the authenticity of the update.
