GHMC issues notices for KBR Park road widening

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has intensified work on its plan to ease traffic congestion around KBR Park by constructing steel flyovers and underpasses at six junctions. As part of the project, GHMC on Tuesday issued notices under Section 146 to residents whose properties will be acquired. Officials served notices around KBR Park, Mugdha Junction and Jubilee Hills Checkpost. The process was completed the same day.

Authorities plan to widen a 6.5 km stretch from Virinchi Hospital junction on Banjara Hills Road No. 12 to Jubilee Hills Checkpost via Omega Hospital and Road No. 45. For this, 299 properties have been identified for acquisition. Notices have also been issued to properties linked to actors Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi and former minister Jana Reddy. The road will be widened to 100 feet between Virinchi junction and Agrasen junction, and 120 feet from Agrasen to Jubilee Hills Checkpost.
