GHMC chief reviews traffic projects near KBR Park under H-City plan
HYDERABAD: GHMC commissioner RV Karnan on Tuesday inspected ongoing preparations for major infrastructure works around KBR Park, identified as a priority zone under the H-City initiative to improve urban mobility.
The plan includes construction of flyovers totalling 4.6 km and underpasses covering 2.8 km across seven junctions around the park. Officials said the projects aim to ease congestion, improve safety, and streamline traffic flow along one of Hyderabad’s busiest corridors.
Commissioner stresses faster execution
Karnan reviewed the stretch between Jubilee Hills Road No. 2 and Jubilee Hills Check Post. He instructed officials to speed up land acquisition and ensure early grounding of works without compromising quality. He also asked for close coordination with the Traffic Police to minimise inconvenience to commuters during construction.
“These projects reflect Hyderabad’s commitment to sustainable urban development and GHMC’s vision to deliver safer and smoother commutes,” Karnan said.
Officials join inspection
The inspection was attended by Khairatabad zonal commissioner Anuraag Jayanthi, chief engineer (projects) Bhaskar Reddy, and Jubilee Hills deputy commissioner V Sammaiah. They reviewed project details along with the commissioner.
