The evacuees, including families and daily wage workers, were moved to the GHMC community hall at Gode-ki-khabar. Officials said food, shelter and medical support are being provided at the facility.

With heavy rains lashing Hyderabad and surrounding districts, inflows into the twin reservoirs rose sharply. To prevent overflow and flooding downstream along the Musi River, surplus water was released, prompting precautionary evacuation measures.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan is closely monitoring the situation. “All officials have been instructed to stay alert and take timely action to avoid any untoward incident,” he said.

The civic body urged residents of vulnerable colonies along the Musi to remain vigilant and cooperate with officials during emergency evacuations.
