Bomb threat at Gaudium School near Patancheru prompts evacuation
Hyderabad: A bomb threat was reported at Gaudium International School near Patancheru, Hyderabad, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, after the school received an email around noon claiming that a bomb had been planted on the premises.
The school management alerted the police, following which Patancheru police, bomb disposal squads, and other officials reached the site. The school was evacuated, and students and staff were moved to safe locations.
According to the reports, a thorough search was conducted for nearly three hours. No explosive material was found. Police confirmed the threat was a hoax. The cybercrime department has launched an investigation to trace the source of the email.
This is the latest in a series of similar threats received by schools in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in recent months.
On January 28, 2025, Delhi Public School in Nacharam received a bomb threat via email sent to the school chairman’s account. The school was evacuated and searched, but nothing was found. It was the second such threat to the school that month.
A similar incident occurred in October 2024 at CRPF School in Jawahar Nagar, Secunderabad. That threat also turned out to be a hoax after a police search found no explosives.
