Hyderabad Ganesh Immersion Traffic Curbs Sept 6

Hyderabad: Invoking Section 21(1)(b) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, C.V. Anand, IPS, DG & Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate (Executive), notified traffic regulations for the Ganesh immersion on 06-09-2025. The main procession enters the city limits from Balapur at Katta Maisamma Temple on Gurram Cheruvu and proceeds via Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta flyover, MBNR X Road, Falaknuma Railway Over Bridge, Aliabad, Nagulchinta, Charminar, Madina, Afzalgunj, SA Bazar, M.J. Market, Abids X Road, Basheerbagh, Liberty Junction and Ambedkar Statue towards NTR Marg and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road). The Secunderabad procession passes Sangeeth Theatre, Patny, Paradise Junction, MG Road, Ranigunj, Karbala Maidan, Sonabai Mosque and Tank Bund to reach NTR Marg and PVNR Marg. Tributary routes include stretches from Chilkalguda via Gandhi Hospital–RTC X Road–Narayanaguda to Liberty; from Ramanthapur/Uppal via Tilak Nagar–Shivam Road–OU NCC–Vidyanagar–Hindi Mahavidyalaya–Fever Hospital–TY Mandali–Barkatpura–YMCA to Narayanaguda; from Dilsukhnagar joining at Nalgonda X Roads with larger idols towards Amberpet via Moosarambagh; from Tarnaka via OU Distance Education–Adikmet–Vidyanagar to Fever Hospital. Additional streams arrive from Tolichowki, Rethi Bowli, Mehdipatnam via Masab Tank–Ayodhya Junction–Nirankari Bhavan–Dwaraka Hotel Junction–Iqbal Minar, from Erragadda via SR Nagar–Ameerpet–Panjagutta–Khairatabad, and from Tappachabutra/Asifnagar via Sitarambagh–Boiguda Kaman–Volga Hotel X Roads–Aghapura–Goshamahal Baradari–Alaska–Malakunta to MJ Market. Only idol-carrying vehicles are permitted on the main procession route between 06.00 hrs on 06-09-2025 and 10.00 hrs on 07-09-2025, with possible extensions; restrictions on NTR Marg, PVNR Marg (Necklace Road), Tank Bund and Khairatabad Flyover may continue from 0600 hrs on 06-09-2025 to the evening of 07-09-2025. This notification remains in force from 06.00 hrs on 06-09-2025 to 0600 hrs on 08-09-2025.

Diversions, parking and public advisory

Vehicle movement other than idol carriers will be restricted and diverted at multiple points adjoining the main and tributary routes; west–east cross movement is available only at Basheerbagh Junction. Commuters are advised to use the Inner Ring Road, Masab Tank–Punjagutta–Begumpet–Secunderabad corridor, or the Outer Ring Road; side roads leading to the main route will be barricaded. Diversion points cover South East Zone (Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta X Road, MBNR X Road, Chanchalguda Jail X Roads, Moosarambagh, Chaderghat Bridge), South Zone (Engine Bowli, Shamsheergunj, Nagulchinta, Himmathpura, Haribowli, Asra Hospital, Moghalpura, Lakkad Kote, Panch Mohalla, Paris Café, Gulzar House, Mitti-Ka-Sher, Kali Kaman, Osman Bazaar, Sheran Hotel, Madina X Road, Nayapool, SJ Rotary, Arman Hotel, MJ Bridge, Darul Shifa X Roads, City College, Moosabowli, Murgi Chowk, Moti Galli), East Zone (Shivaji Bridge, Afzalgunj, Putlibowli X Roads, Troop Bazar, Jambagh X Roads, Koti Andhra Bank, Old MLA Quarters, Himayathnagar, YMCA), South West Zone (MJ Bridge, Puranapul, Tope Khana Mosque, Feelkhana, Alaska Hotel Junction, Darussalam, Osmangunj, Sanker Bagh, Seena Hotel, Ajantha Gate near Exhibition Grounds), Central Zone (Chapel Road Entry, Gadwal Centre at GPO, Shalimar Theatre, Gunfoundry, Skyline Road entry, Bharath Scouts and Guides Junction in Domalguda, Kalanjali at Control Room, Chapel Road, AR Petrol Pump at KLK Building, Liberty Junction, Abkari Lane, Taj Island, MCH Office Y Junction, BRK Bhavan Junction near Telugu Thalli Junction, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Dwaraka Hotel Junction, Khairatabad Junction, Children’s Park, Marriott Hotel Junction, Kawadiguda Junction, Musheerabad X Road, RTC X Road, Katta Maisamma Temple on Lower Tank Bund Road, Indira Park Junction, Upper Tank Bund from Karbala Maidan, Buddha Bhavan, Sailing Club, Nallagutta Junction) and North Zone (Clock Tower, Patny X Roads, CTO X Roads, Paradise X Roads, Ranigunj X Roads), with additional diversions at CTO Junction, YMCA Junction, Paradise X Roads, Patny X Roads, Bata X Roads, Adavaiah X Roads and Ghasmandi X Roads from 0600 hrs on 06-09-2025 to 1000 hrs on 07-09-2025 or till immersion completion. Visitor parking is designated at NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple (Lower Tank Bund), Public Gardens, back side of Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road entrance), Adarsh Nagar Road (entry via HTP Junction beside Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan and GHMC Head Office Road, Institute of Engineers at Khairatabad Junction and Khairatabad MMTS Station. Exit routes for empty trucks/lorries post-immersion are specified via Necklace Road Rotary and Khairatabad Flyover towards VV Statue and KCP Junction, with no return towards Lakdi-ka-Pool, Telugu Thalli Statue, Mint Compound or Sanjeevaiah Park; after midnight at NTR Marg, empty vehicles shall exit via Telugu Thalli–Old Ambedkar Statue–Liberty–Himayathnagar. Heavy commercial vehicles, trailers and local lorries are barred from entering the city, with movements to terminate at the outskirts and use the Outer Ring Road; local lorries and construction equipment vehicles are disallowed from 0800 hrs on 06-09-2025 to 2300 hrs on 07-09-2025. RTC city buses follow the same diversions, and when the procession peaks, services will not operate beyond Masab Tank, VV Statue, CTO/Plaza/SBH/Clock Tower/Chilkalguda X Road, Ramanthapur TV Station, Gaddi Annaram/Chaderghat, Danamma Huts, IS Sadan, YMCA Narayanaguda and Tarnaka; interstate/district buses to MGBS must route via JBS–Tarnaka–Vidyanagar–Barkatpura–Chaderghat or via Aramgarh–Chandrayangutta–IS Sadan–Nalgonda X Road–Chaderghat, or via Godrej Y Junction–Bowenpally–JBS–Tarnaka–Vidyanagar–Barkatpura–Chaderghat, with restrictions from 0800 hrs on 06-09-2025 to 0800 hrs on 07-09-2025. Private contract carriages should operate from outside the city and avoid entry from 0800 hrs on 06-09-2025 to 1000 hrs on 07-09-2025. Junctions to avoid include MJ Market, Khairatabad, GPO (Abids), Liberty, Ranigunj, Telugu Thalli Statue, Kavadiguda, Narayanaguda X Roads, RTC X Roads, Musheerabad X Roads, Tank Bund, NTR Marg, Necklace Road (PVNR Marg) and People’s Plaza. Devotees may also use baby ponds, portable water tanks and excavation ponds at the listed locations en route for immersion.
