Hyderabad: The Maha Ganesh immersion across Greater Hyderabad is progressing peacefully, with lakhs of devotees joining the processions. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in coordination with the police and other departments, has ensured seamless management across 303 kilometers of procession routes. Road repairs, clearance of cable lines and tree branches, and temporary lighting at 56,187 points supported the smooth conduct of the Shobha Yatra.

To maintain hygiene during the celebrations, GHMC deployed 15,000 sanitation workers in three shifts, with waste transported directly to processing centers. Thirty-nine mobile toilets were set up for public use. Medical support included seven emergency camps with ambulances and doctors on duty.

At Hussain Sagar, nine boats, Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams, and 200 expert swimmers were deployed. Thirteen control rooms are monitoring real-time developments. GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, along with senior officials, is supervising the arrangements on-site.

As part of community service, free meals were arranged for 5,000 devotees at People’s Plaza and Prasads Imax under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja. Commissioner Karnan appealed to citizens to cooperate by disposing waste only at designated garbage points and avoiding the scattering of color papers.
