Hyderabad Police Chief Reviews Ganesh Immersion Arrangements

Focus on safety and vigilance

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, IPS, held a review meeting at the South West Zone DCP office in Mehdipatnam to oversee security and traffic arrangements for Ganesh idol immersion. He instructed officers to ensure devotees do not face inconvenience and called for strict vigilance against pickpocketing, eve-teasing and chain snatching. He directed that organizers and volunteers remain near idols at night and that immersion activities be completed swiftly to allow devotees to return home safely.

Inspections and new facilities

The Commissioner also inspected major Ganesh mandapas at Goshamahal, Tappa Chabutra, Langar House and Golconda, where he urged organizers to take precautions against rain-related risks. He appealed to the public to cooperate with police for a peaceful festival.

On the same day, Anand inaugurated a cricket practice facility with a pitch and net at Kulsumpura Police Quarters to promote fitness and team spirit among personnel. He also formally opened a new police outpost at Ganga Bowli under Tappachabutra Police Station limits.

The meeting and events were attended by senior officers including G. Chandra Mohan, IPS (DCP South West Zone), K. Apoorva Rao, IPS (DCP SB), R. Venkateswarlu, IPS (DCP Traffic), M.A. Bari (DCP), Iqbal Siddiqui (Addl. DCP Task Force), along with officers from South West Zone police stations.
