Hydra operation reclaims ₹15,000 crore land in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Authorities launched “Operation Hydraa” in Gajularamaram, Quthbullapur mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, to reclaim encroached government land valued at over ₹15,000 crore.
The drive focused on Survey No. 307, where more than 300 acres had been illegally occupied. Officials said the land was allotted to the State Finance Corporation but was taken over by influential individuals. Encroachers had carved out ventures and sold plots, while sheds were put up in the name of the below poverty line people.
“Hydraa” teams, supported by full police force, began demolition work on Sunday morning. Officials clarified that the operation targeted only illegal structures and did not disturb existing residential houses.
The reclaimed land will remain under government control. Action is being initiated against those who created and sold unauthorised layouts.
