Container lorry & apartment fire break out in Sangareddy & Mir Chowk
Hyderabad: A container lorry traveling from Mumbai to Vijayawada caught fire on November 29, 2024, near Rudraram in Sangareddy District, due to a suspected short circuit.
The fire quickly spread across the vehicle, causing concern for both the driver and nearby road users.
However, quick-thinking locals came to the rescue, using a water tanker from nearby highway repair works to control the flames.
Their timely action helped avert a larger disaster, though the container lorry sustained significant damage. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
In another incident, a fire broke out in an apartment in the Mir Chowk area of the Old City on November 28, 2024, around midnight, reportedly due to a short circuit.
According to the reports, the family residing in the flat was trapped in the blaze, screaming for help as the fire quickly spread. Local police, alerted to the emergency, rushed to the scene and rescued the individuals trapped inside.
The fire department arrived shortly after and successfully extinguished the flames. However, there were no fatalities, but the incident caused extensive damage to the apartment. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
