Fire erupts at plastic factory in Hyderabad’s Sanathnagar
Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a factory in the Sanathnagar area of Hyderabad on July 17, 2025, Thursday. The fire started at a unit that manufactures plastic and paper plates, sending thick smoke across the area and causing panic among nearby residents and workers.
According to the reports, five fire engines were rushed to the spot, and firefighters are working to control the flames. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths. The cause of the fire is still not known. More details are awaited.
This is the latest in a series of fire incidents reported in Hyderabad this month. On July 16, a fire broke out at a potato chips manufacturing godown in Papireddy Nagar, Jagadgirigutta. Two fire engines were deployed, and the blaze was brought under control. No casualties were reported, but the property was heavily damaged. Police suspect a short circuit as the possible cause. The godown reportedly stored large quantities of plastic, fibre, and other flammable materials, which may have intensified the fire.
On July 12, an auto carrying chemicals caught fire near the LB Nagar Commissioner of Police Camp Office. Flames briefly disrupted traffic in the area. Firefighters responded promptly and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
On July 10, a fire broke out at the Tirupati Rubber Company in Netaji Nagar, located in the Katedan Industrial Area. The factory, which manufactures rubber products such as car mats, emitted thick smoke visible from a distance. Firefighters, assisted by Mailardevpally police and the Disaster Response Force, brought the fire under control after several hours. No casualties were reported.
Earlier, on July 3, a fire started in the kitchen of a Café Coffee Day outlet inside the Krish Inn Hotel, near the SR Nagar Traffic Police Station. Some people were trapped on the upper floors. Emergency teams evacuated everyone safely. No injuries were reported.
