Tellapur Neighbourhood Association holds fire mock drill at Osmannagar’s Induscrest Apartments
Hyderabad: The Tellapur Neighbourhood Association (TENA) conducted a fire mock drill on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Induscrest Apartment Complex in Osmannagar, in collaboration with the Telangana Fire Service Department, Patancheru.
In response to recent fire incidents in the city, TENA aimed to raise awareness among residents of gated communities in Tellapur about fire safety measures to protect lives and property. The drill involved a simulated fire emergency to prepare residents for real-life scenarios. Fire department personnel demonstrated evacuation procedures, tested response protocols, and assessed emergency plans. They also showed residents how to use fire extinguishers and the fire alarm systems installed in the complex.
The firefighters provided guidance on handling fire emergencies, including evacuation, communication, and response techniques. Training included the proper use of fire hydrants and sprinkler systems. Special instructions were given to women on handling gas leaks in kitchens.
Patancheru Fire Officer Naga Raju led the training, explaining safe evacuation methods and how to protect oneself from smoke inhalation during a fire. Officer Naga Raju advised communities to form fire safety squads to assist residents during emergencies by guiding them on evacuation routes, assembly points, and safety measures.
Eshwaragari Ramana, president of TENA, urged residents to take precautions against electrical short circuits and gas leaks. He highlighted the importance of regular mock drills to train residents and fire wardens on their roles during emergencies.
