Fire breaks out at fertility centre in Shaikpet
Hyderabad: On Friday, January 17, 2025, a major fire broke out at a fertility centre adjacent to DMart in Shaikpet, Hyderabad. The blaze quickly spread to a study centre and a Reliance Trends store located in the same building.
According to the reports, no casualties have been reported so far.
Upon being alerted about the fire, firefighters responded swiftly, with three to four fire tenders at the scene working to contain the flames.
Thick smoke engulfed the area, leading to a large crowd of people evacuating the buildings. Traffic in the Shaikpet area was severely affected due to the ongoing emergency response. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined by authorities.
Recent Fire Incidents in Hyderabad
In recent weeks, Hyderabad has witnessed a number of fire incidents. On Thursday, January 16, 2025, a fire broke out at the Kanchukota Tiffin Centre in Kukatpally. The blaze destroyed two motorcycles and hotel furniture.
Local residents, who spotted the flames near Arjun Theatre in the KPHB police station limits, rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control before the fire department arrived. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Earlier, on January 1, 2025, a lorry carrying hardware materials caught fire in the Jeedimetla Industrial Area after coming into contact with a high-tension wire. The fire quickly spread to a nearby HMWSSB water tanker. Firefighters from the Jeedimetla Fire Station responded swiftly, and both vehicle drivers managed to escape the flames unharmed.
On December 31, 2024, a fire occurred at a plastic godown in Bismillah Colony, under the Rachakonda Commissionerate. However, no casualties were reported in that incident.
A fire also broke out on December 21, 2024, at the Sattva Elixir building in Madhapur, near Inorbit Mall. The fire affected the fourth and fifth floors of the building, sending thick smoke into the area. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported.
