The scam escalated when the fraudster called again, this time claiming to be at Delhi Airport and said Income Tax officials had detained the friend over a foreign currency issue. Soon after, another caller from number 8132883688 impersonated an Income Tax officer, demanding clearance and tax charges of ₹55,500. The victim was shown a fake certificate, allegedly signed by officials from Indian Customs and Tax Services, to support the claim.

The victim transferred the requested amount. Shortly after, the fraudster demanded an additional ₹1,50,000, which the victim also paid. When asked for another ₹3,50,000, the victim grew suspicious and realized it was a scam. The total loss amounted to ₹2,05,500. The victim has filed an online complaint seeking assistance.
