Building careers, one job fair at a time: Mannan Khan’s inspiring journey

Hyderabad: If you have been following news related to job melas in the media, you may have come across this name – Mannan Khan Engineer in it. Yes, this young Hyderabadi has organized numerous job fairs in the city.

He’s organizing another job mela in Tolichowki on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Qualified candidates can attend preliminary interviews at the Golden Palace Function Hall and get job offers after a couple of rounds.

Several companies including IT/ITES firms, financial institutions, security, automobile, food delivery, courier companies among others are participating in the job fair.

Mohammed Mannanullah Khan a.k.a Mannan Khan Engineer, an electrical engineer-turned-social worker, is a resident of Golconda. Moved by the job losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Khan decided to help the unemployed youth find jobs through these programmes.

A Chinese proverb goes like this, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” Khan is putting this proverb into practice by helping the youth find job opportunities.

Khan embarked on this journey in September 2021 when many Covid-induced lockdown affected people were desperately seeking job opportunities to feed their families. He said in the initial months over 1,000 candidates got selected by different companies, and as they say rest is history.
