Elderly couple found murdered in Rajendranagar apartment

Hyderabad: An elderly couple was found murdered in their apartment at Jana Chaitanya Phase 2 Venture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Sheik Abdullah, 70, and Rizwana Begum, 65, both retired and residents of the Abrij Residency Apartment on the fifth floor, were discovered in their bedroom with multiple injuries caused by blunt and sharp objects. Neighbours found the couple lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police.

The Rajendranagar police have registered a case and are examining whether the murders were part of a robbery or involved individuals known to the victims. CCTV footage from cameras near the crime scene is under review.

Authorities are investigating possible motives, including financial gain or insider involvement, as they work to identify suspects and determine why the couple was targeted.
