ACB nabs Dy. Commissioner of Rajendra Nagar Municipality for accepting Rs. 2L to avoid hotel seizure
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested K. Ravi Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Circle-11, Rajendra Nagar Municipality, GHMC, on July 25, 2025, for demanding and accepting a bribe.
Ravi Kumar allegedly asked for ₹5,00,000 from a hotel owner and accepted ₹2,00,000 in cash to prevent action against the hotel, which had been found with irregularities during an inspection. The accused promised to help the hotel avoid a seizure and ensure smooth operations in the future in exchange for the payment.
ACB officials conducted a trap and recovered the bribe money from Kumar. A chemical test on his fingers confirmed the presence of the bribe amount.
Deputy Commissioner of Circle-11, Rajendra Nagar Municipality, GHMC, Ravi Kumar was arrested and sent to judicial remand. The investigation is ongoing.
